They gave him character development and everything. There’s a stark difference between normal timeline Thanos and alternate timeline. Thanos because one went through that legendary journey and one didn’t. It made me really enjoy Thanos as a character and made Infinity War one of my favorite movies ever just because of how unique it felt. The Baby Stitch Hug Spider Man Shirt ending was what sold the entire movie for me. They could have ended it with an inspirational and cheesy speech full of hope and optimism e.g by Capt. America, setting up Endgame. But instead, the final shot of the movie is when Thanos is sitting on a hill, facing the camera and he smiles into the sun (“I finally rest and watch the sunrise on a grateful universe.”). Happy and content with himself. They totally nailed it with that ending IMO.

Yep, especially with Silvestri’s score and the Baby Stitch Hug Spider Man Shirt end credits being very simplistic. Usually, we get something flashy and colorful in MCU movies, but in Infinity War all the names were in white letters on a black background like in a classic drama. Fit the atmosphere really well. I think the only thing missing was Thanos picking up Mjollnir, which would have been insane. But you can’t have that before Cap picking up Mjollnir. And that would have been to epic for one movie heads would have exploded. Endgame, on the other hand, was super average, IMO. They immediately removed the enemy that made IW great and replaced him with shitty old-Thanos who had none of the depth and was just like “fuck it, I’m gonna wipe out everyone, that will save everyone”

the Baby Stitch Hug Spider Man Shirt massive hype with repeated nostalgia kicks. I still enjoyed it just like I enjoyed SW 7, but the plot itself was painfully shallow. Thanos’ plan never made sense though. Resources are apparently finite but populations expand. If you cut the population in half it really doesn’t take long for most of them to bounce back to what they were before. So Thanos doesn’t solve anything in the long run.
