Overall, I really don’t like Horse Squad Witch Halloween Shirt’s other IP in MTG. It just cheapens the brand, makes it feel more like grocery store checkout cards. BUT! If they want to put The Walking Dead or Ronald McDonald or whatever on a silver card, fine. I don’t like it, but it’s tolerable. I rarely complain about WOTC’s choices, but making these legal cards was a bridge too far. If they are testing the waters (and they are), this is my response: I hate it. And, of course, I won’t be buying them, which is the response that ultimately matters. My guess is that they break all sales records with it, and we can expect more, regardless of what Reddit says.

WOTC has the Horse Squad Witch Halloween Shirt responsibility to Hasbro which has the responsibility to the shareholders. To a significant degree, their hands are tied. They have to go where the money is. I think WotC is clearly taking this game in a direction that a lot of enfranchised players don’t like. I think the solution is clearly to just stop playing the game and move on. The dozen or so videos coming out and bitching isn’t going to change their mind. Also, if these are going to sell like hotcakes, then clearly people like them. Products all the time fail because no one buys them. I sense a disconnected from the vocal few on Reddit, Twitter, and youtube and the people that actually fund this game.
