Saw loved, and I’m hoping for a prequel for Official Pete Alonso, Tom Seaver 41 Forever ShirtCabin in the Woods. I’ve also seen Get Out and Us, both of which I really like as well. Recently saw In The Tall Grass which was a great horror movie. Both of the IT movies were 10/10 for me and lastly, I saw Haunting of Hill House and absolutely loved that show as well. I’d revisit if I were you. Some of the best horror movies of all time are coming out of this generation. Also re jump scares, I feel like they all get lumped into one class and treated the same.

For me there’s the cheap jump scares Official Pete Alonso, Tom Seaver 41 Forever Shirt and there’s the good jump scares, and the good jump scares contribute to the experience (Conjuring, insidious, etc). Insidious’ use of a tonally jarring score in concert with the jump scares is just so effective IMO. Modern horror isn’t just jump scares. That’s like me saying I don’t like modern dramas or modern action movies. The reality is that there’s a lot of entertainment out there and most of it is bad you just have to find the good ones. Horror is the same way. If you need some recommendations; The Conjuring, The Ritual, Terrifier, MidSommar, and Veronica, are all fantastic horror movies in their own right, all of which came out within the last 10 years.
