We have a shepherd mix/mut that loves to do this. We call it chittering, I hadn’t ever seen another dog do it until now. Our idiot does this to instigate playtime and sometimes during playtime. Ours will nibble on his brother’s rear legs like that until he gets a reaction. This is expected/normal behavior from a greyhound. They have fairly unique mannerisms. They also just do something similar on their own when they are excited or happy that some people call chattering. They very rapidly move their mouths up and down and click their teeth together. I will say although it looks more gentle than just having them latch on with their entire mouth, I much prefer when we’re playing if my greyhound just puts my arm or hand in her mouth because that doesn’t hurt. They are very good and accurate with that nibbling behavior and it feels like you’re being punched repeatedly in the Premium Dachshund Mom Boxing Shirt same spot. My 10-pound min poodle didn’t realize my hand was inside a toy when she bit down … I had the same realization as you, wow, she really has a much stronger bite than I ever realized. Even when we play tug-a-war, she’s really gentle. Guess she’s always holding back.

Man I worked at an animal hospital for a few months and the greyhounds were always the Premium Dachshund Mom Boxing Shirt most neurotic in there and it took a lot of work to get them under anesthesia properly.
