My husband was a contractor at a women’s prison and had to wear a reminder on his badge about PREA. So many steps were taken to assure there was no line being crossed. Even with talking or passing by in the I’m Not Yelling I’m A Sea Eagles Girl We Just Talk Loud Shirt hallway. Inmates could never be one on one with a contractor or anyone else. PREA doesn’t work when the people in trust r being papers. And why do people feel it’s appropriate to victimize traumatized people? I work in a jail, my female inmates are sooooo damaged already. I assume the same of my male inmates but they hide it well with their tough facade.
