The print is super cute but the T shirt is HUGE. I ordered an XL for my husband (size 42 and wears XL normally in other tee shirts) but this XL fits more like a 2XL. The tee is a good weight, not too thin or heavy but the texture is a little scratchy. I gave this to a friend to wear it as a nightshirt and she loves it. Would buy it again for the print, which is high quality.

the graphics on this shirt are incredible. There is a lot of depth and detail and the colors are so vibrant. I love these shirts from The Mountain. They are like art on a shirt. Unfortunately, after I looked at this one for a while, I realized that this is not an actual picture. I suspect it has been photo-shopped because the way the lighting is on the kitten and the ship does not match the position of the sun – so more than likely this event never really happened. Now when people say “Wow, cool shirt!”, I have to tell them that in all honesty the events depicted are likely fictional. This is not a real picture and we have to accept that if we want to find this leviathan kitten of epic size and ferocity, we must look within ourselves – to the Krakitten inside us all.

COLOR OF THE GRAPHIC PRINT IS MUCH LESS VIVID THAN IN PHOTO in the Blueberry color. The black has better contrast. . I bought both colors.
Also other reviewers say the shirt runs HUGE. Mine fits like an average men’s medium. Not oversized at all. Is it possible there are different shirts out there using the same licensed print? That would account for the difference in reviews. Other than that this is a 100% cotton standard fitting men’s tee shirt.Fabric is relatively thick. I would actually prefer a thinner/finer fabric or the same print on a women’s tee shirt body. The image is adorable but it IS on a men’s tee shirt.(perfect for guys) So it could be cuter, at least if bought for a female, if it came either in a thinner/finer cotton fabric or on a women’s tee shirt body. If it came like that, I’d probably go up to 5 stars. Still, image is very cute.

This is a pretty immaculate depiction of this Krakitten. Legend has it that pirates were overtaken by a sea monster in the year 997 AD. Was it a lochness monster? Was it a massive whale? Nay, t’wasn’t, lads. It purred something fierce and was fluffier than any sea monster that ever was. How do we know it was a krakitten, over a millenia later? Tales of the attack say that this monster was oft’ distracted by batting little fishes around in the ocean. It also hid when the thunder struck and napped periodically during the tussle. Ay, that hearkens of a krakitten!!
I typically order a women’s small and so I ordered this in a small. It’s a unisex size, which is slang for men’s size and it fit like I expected it to. It’s fits casually baggy, but not gross baggy.

I ordered a size medium and it is a little large on me, almost like a tshirt dress. I am 5 ft tall and weight about 125 so a small probably would have been better for me. The shirt itself is extremely cool and i get a lot of compliments when i wear it. who doesnt like cats? The concept of a kracken cat is wild and fantastic. if you buy this shirt you will be very happy with your purchase and garner a lot of attention when you wear it.

Fits somewhat small, I normally wear a Small in Womens and the Small shirt was just a little bigger than that even though it’s made for Men. I think man should probably size up if they’re not sure. It’s made out of a really thick material that I feel make it seem smaller than it is even though it’s not clingy. Cute shirt, but I never wear it because I don’t like the thick material.

Make no mistake, ladies, this is a dude shirt in that super thick dude beefy t-shirt type material and it runs huge. If you’re good at altering t-shirts and like the design on this one (I mean, come on, it’s a krakitten), go for it, otherwise prepare to go swimming in your new shirt.

I use my t-shirt collection from The Mountain to make friends in new places. Each one is like an obscure joke that only quality people get. When I go places and see other people wearing another shirt from this company we exchange knowing glances, like “yeah, you know what’s up”.
They are designed for men so the fit is not sexy in a womanly way at all. Who cares though. I don’t wear these for the sex appeal. I wear them because why would you want to wear anything else ever? When you wear this shirt everybody, even strangers, will stare and smile and giggle at you. Don’t worry though. They’re not laughing at you. They don’t even notice you because your Tshirts awesomeness is so overpoweringly loud.

I get so many compliments on this shirt when I wear it out it’s unbelievable. I ordered one the first time looking (as with all my clothes) to have it be a bit bigger than I necessarily needed but WOW it was bigger! Or at least in length it was a bit too much— like a tunic. But hey, I sleep in t-shirts so it basically became my usual “nightgown.” Lol. Of course I wanted to have one to wear OUT as well so I did order another one in a size smaller and it definitely is less giant. The length is still maybe a little long for some people but ok for me as I tend to wear leggings a lot; my leggins aren’t sheer but I still like it when the shirts I wear with them cover my bum anyways and the shirt definitely does. I’ve washed the bigger one a million times by now and the print has maybe faded a little, but I also ALWAYS dry my clothes on regular heat for a good 50/60 minutes and I usually don’t bother turning them inside out when washing either, so really, it’s pretty amazing that it hasn’t been destroyed completely by now. Haha~ The smaller/second one I ordered did have more of a red undertone to the print mostly in the ocean and clouds/sky. It was a little different but I don’t mind, as the slight difference in tone now helps me feel like I am wearing an at least SOMEWHAT different shirt when I change out of my “pajama shirt” into literally the same shirt (just a little smaller) to go out. Lol! Anyone who buys two of the same shirt really must love it, I’d think, so there you go! Awesome design that doesn’t fade easily and I love that they run a little large.

I have seen a smattering of lousy reviews for Mountain shirts. I guess there can be some knockoffs which will upset some folks. However I have
bought several for myself and family members and all fit well and came as advertised. I have the mountain gorilla, a Bengal tiger, a snow leopard and a brachiosaurus for myself. I am awaiting the African grey parrot shirt. For others I have the Krakitten, a horse shirt, a lion cub, the red panda and one depicting 3 tigers at a waterfall. All of these shirts are stunning. I have a relative who is a screen printer by trade and she upon seeing a couple of the shirts mentioned that significant artistry went into the printing of the shirts. I know of no other shirt designer who is doing what Mountain has accomplished. All animal lovers I expect will be pleased with the tremendous variety available and if anyone wants a t-shirt that makes a statement look no further than the Mountain brand.

This is a fantastic shirt. The artistry is spot-on, and I have had many positive comments about the shirt when I wear it. I have had to educate several people as to what a “Kraken” is, though, so that they then understand the “Krakitten” joke, but that’s certainly not the shirt’s fault!
The shirt fits exactly as expected for my size (XXL), and has held up through several washings already. The colors are still bright, and the design must be put on with ancient magicks or something because it looks perfect still.
I am impressed overall…with the shirt itself, the printing quality, and of course, the subject matter. I’ll be doing a search for items by “The Mountain” more often from now on!

I was a little nervous about buying this shirt because there are so many reviews about cheap imitations, but I ended up getting exactly what was described. FWIW, the item I bought said “Shipped and sold by Amazon”. The quality of the shirt is good and the image on the front covers the whole front. The only thing that is keeping me from giving this 5 stars is the fit. I wear large in all my tshirts, but this large is pretty big on me. In particular its long so I have to tuck it in, which I never do (I’m 5’10”). I can still wear it, but if you are on the fence about Medium or large, you may want to go medium. Overall, a great quality shirt, with a great image…just a bit large.

I read the negative reviews of this product with dismay especially given that the cheap knock-offs of this shirt are lowering what should (in my opinion anyways) be a 5 star rating for a high quality shirt – assuming that is, it’s a genuine product from the Mountain clothing manufacturer itself … if you’re going to order this from amazon make sure that “The Mountain” is displayed as the actual seller.. better yet, google “mountain clothing”, and go to the manufacturer’s website directly and sign up for their newsletter to be emailed to you … their November/December (i.e. Christmas sales) in particular are amazing as far as the low prices and I’ve always found their customer service to be nothing short of exceptional.
I was fortunate enough to purchase this shirt directly from the Mountain (but sold by amazon) … make sure if you purchase ANY shirt from amazon that “The Mountain” is listed as the seller….. or at the very least “fulfilled by amazon” so you can return it hassle free at amazon’s expense if the seller rips you off, as appears to be the case with so many unfortunate customers here (my sincerest sympathies to all of you ! The situation you’re describing is highly disappointing and shame on these bootleg sellers ! ) … I can attest that the shirt sold directly by the Mountain looks fantastic, my daughter loves it, and as is often the case the Mountain sells whimsical, highly imaginative pictures/art on a high-quality shirt…
While you’re at the Mountain’s website (which you should really visit before ordering any of their shirts), click on “help” and look at the sizing chart.. it spells out the actual size in inches right there of the shirt , I actually measured shirts that I knew fit my daughter and compared the size in inches to the size outlined on the Mountain’s website.
Also, be aware that these shirts will leak LOTS of color the first 3 or 4 times you wash them … it’s apparently a byproduct of the way the Mountain makes the shirt though the shirts are so awesome I feel it’s well worth it 🙂 … wash with similar colors and to be on the safe side throw in four sheets of “Shout color protector” (sold here on amazon as well) the first 3 or 4 times you wash it … eventually all that “spare” dye will wash out and you won’t have to worry about it anymore ..

I bought this as a birthday gift from our 9 year old daughter to husband. He’s a large man, & finding plus size clothing that fits him properly is difficult. Normally T-shirts are too short for him & his stomach hangs out. This one was just the right size, covered his stomach so it stays tucked in, is soft, & the design has not faded at all. It hasn’t shrunk excessively in the wash either. He loves the shirt. If you’re thinking of ordering one, but are concerned about sizing issues or if the design will fade, let me put your mind at ease. I held off on writing this review to see how it would hold up over a little time. His birthday was March 15 & it’s May 16 today. He has worn this shirt often in the past 2 months, as well as another that I bought from the seller to give him as a gift. Both have held up well.

To make sure you are getting the right shirt and not the Chinese knockoff, be sure you are purchasing the one sold by Licensed-Mart and fulfilled by Amazon. I originally ordered the knockoff by mistake, but saw it was going to take almost a month to arrive and canceled the order. Then I returned to the product page, noticed it was sold by different people, checked out the reviews (always check the reviews) and saw what the problem was. I then ordered the legit shirt from Licensed-Mart and received it super fast.
It was a big shirt. Really big, but a Krakitten is no small thing.

Have purchased other men’s T-shirts for plus size woman in other brands at the same size, and they fit better. This one is a little snug. Luckily it didn’t shrink when washed.
The colors weren’t as nice as the picture, as they were a much more red tone. And the image was “out of focus” so to speak. I wonder if the color registration was off for this batch. It’s not bad, though, and I still enjoy the shirt.

The material of this shirt is rather heavy and stiff, and the fit is kind of blocky. The sizing runs larger than I was expecting so the shirt is a bit too big. I’m hoping that it will shrink with washing. The color and decal are good and look just like they looked on the computer.
